Grizzlies get volleyball revenge against NU

After dropping the title contest in its own tournament to Nevada Union on Saturday, the Granite Bay High boys volleyball team had an immediate chance for revenge in a Sierra Foothill League match Tuesday night in Granite Bay.Behind a powerful 17-kill performance from Mike Naki, the Grizzlies exacted a measure of redemption with a four-game (25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21) win in a tightly contested battle.Granite Bay won the first game by just two points, before winning game two in more comfortable fashion to take a commanding advantage before being tested by a talented Miner crew, which took the third game by two points before falling in a closely contested decisive game four.Naki shared the match's high in kills with Justin Carroll of Nevada Union, while Jack Powell added 12 kills for the Grizzlies and Tommy Patterson delivered 10.The Grizzlies (5-0 in league, 20-6 overall) are at Del Oro (2-7, 2-8) Thursday night.
