Head-on collision kills one

A 24-year-old Rocklin man was killed Wednesday in a head-on collision on Highway 65 near Lincoln.David Palinsky II was driving southbound on Highway 65, just north of Wise Road, from Beal Air Force Base around 9 a.m. in a Toyota Sienna van when, for unknown reasons, he drifted over the solid double-yellow line, officials said."He hit a 2003 Isuzu two-axle, six-wheel company delivery truck, driven by Austin Jansma, 18, of Roseville, head on," said Officer Mark Williams of the Auburn area office of the California Highway Patrol. "He hit him head on in the northbound lane."Palinsky was pronounced dead at the scene.Jansma was taken to an area hospital was "severe and major injuries," officials said.
