Robert Kittredge named to SureWest Communication board

SureWest Communications announced recently the appointment of Robert Kitt-redge to its board of directors. Kittredge, 58, retired in 2004 from the national accounting firm of Price-waterhouse Coopers after 35 years of service. From 1989 until his retirement, he served as managing partner of the Sacramento office, overseeing the practices in accounting, auditing, taxation and consulting in the Sacramento region and throughout Northern Calif-ornia."Mr. Kittredge is well known to and enormously respected by the business community in our area, and as a long-time business leader, is well versed with our company's products and services, and opportunities," said Kirk Doyle, SureWest chairman. "His background in financial accounting, auditing and consulting, together with his knowledge of our company and the local market, make him a superb addition to the Board."Kittredge is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and is a past president of the Sacramento Chapter of the California Society of CPAs. In addition to his professional activities, Kittredge has served as the president or board member for numerous charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the Sacra-mento region.SureWest partners with Cuban-owned HDNet SureWest announced recently that high-definition networks HDNet and HDNet Movies are part of its high-definition television service set to launch this year. SureWest is currently finalizing its beta testing as it prepares to become the first company in the United States to offer HDTV commercially over its Internet Protocol (IP)-based fiber-to-the-premise (FTTP) network. HDNet Movies also features a wide selection of major studio's theatrical releases - all uncut, unedited and appearing in their original aspect ratio - as well as features produced and finished in true 1080i high-definition.
