GDPUD board members need to be replaced

I have concerns and issues with Georgetown Divide Public Utility District. Fiscal irresponsibility with high salaries and benefits package, high-paid consultants, complaints of disrepair of ditches, and the problem of a 60-year-old conveyance system in dire straits.A public relations person, budgeted to the tune of $10,000, was conveniently hired in an election year with Bob Diekon and Joanne Shepherd running for GDPUD and Norm Krizl running for supervisor. The two rented booths at Founder's Day with the clever little water container and bottled water handed out. I am sure the staff and public relations person didn't volunteer their time or the gifts? You know who paid.Fortunately, ratepayers now have a committee they can turn to. Several months ago, local citizens formed the Divide Citizens for Water and the group hopes to be continuously active in monitoring the board's actions in present and future years.The district is celebrating its 60th year and the 11 employees felt compelled to be protected by joining the Operating Engineers Union. What a sad commentary for the 60th anniversary.The present GDPUD board is absent without leave, this time for a change, I encourage people to vote for Bonnie Neeley, Mike Cooper and Al Manard.James PlileyCool
