GDPUD works well, re-elect Diekon, Shepherd

In response to misinformation that is circulating about the Georgetown Divide Public Utility District, I offer the following: The GDPUD offers the lowest water rates in the area and the recently negotiated employee compensation package is very comparable to those at PCWA and EID, except for senior management positions at GDPUD are considerably less than similar positions at those larger agencies. In 2005 the board established a public relations function to inform the customers about district operations, which is in no way related to the 2006 election cycle. A survey of all 2005 ag-water customers showed that a large majority were either satisfied or very satisfied with the system.The current GDPUD board works well together and they should be proud of their accomplishments over the past four years. I recommend that Bob Diekon and Joann Shepherd be re-elected and that Bob Villalobos be chosen to fill retiring 'Hy' Vitcov's seat.Charles GierauGeorgetown
