Donny's accident was a 'tragic waste of life'

We were longtime friends of Donny Powell, and we just wanted to commend you on a well-written article, Journal Nov. 19. We searched for information in the papers on what happened to Donny and you are the only one with an informative article. The one in the (metropolitan daily) was so little and the comments were mostly posted by the bus driver's family. We felt so bad we posted the following so we could give Donny a voice too: "I have known Donny most his life. He was an avid motorcycle rider since he was little. He had experience with all different types of bikes, from racing (speedway bikes) to street bikes. Under the circumstances and the comments I have viewed, I think Donny needs a voice here. I hope that a detailed investigation with extreme penalties is done on Donny's behalf, because he paid an extreme price for someone's negligence. Donny was the kind of guy who loved life, always smiling, and quick to offer a helping hand to those in need. This was a tragic waste of life. Our hearts go out to his family.
