Reconsider putting dog park at Ashford

We want you to be aware of the facts regarding the relocation of the dog park to Ashford Park.We are strongly advising the Auburn Recreation District and the city officials to reconsider the decision regarding this move, and find a more suitable and appropriate location for the dog park.Concerns and issues are:1. Relocation: The dog park has been assigned to two previous sites. Ashford Park is the third relocation. Negative issues at the other two sites are: Too costly; complaints by the citizens who used those sites; safety issues regarding the welfare of the children; environmental impact; liability issues.2. Environmental impact: Drainage system requirement (urine drainage); protection of Auburn Ravine Creek; habitat of wildlife.3. Traffic: Auburn Ravine Road, a narrow, two-lane road with many curves; parking availability.4. Encumbrance: Approx-imately half of Ashford Park's usable space will be fenced and used for the dog park; children's play area and main picnic area impacted.5. Neighborhood park: Ashford Park is listed as a "neighborhood" park; residents in the immediate area have not had adequate communication/notification about this dog park relocation.
