'Grandpa Bandit' hits another bank

Rocklin Police and the FBI are on the hunt for a bank robber dubbed the "Grandpa Bandit," believed to have struck for a fourth time Tuesday.The man, described as a white male, 55 to 60 years old with a gray moustache, is suspected of hitting a Sacramento bank Tuesday.Steve Dupre, spokesman for the Sacramento FBI office, said Tuesday, the bandit struck again."We believe he robbed the Guaranty Bank on Watt Avenue in Sacramento (Tuesday) at approximately 9:17 a.m.," Dupre said. "Additional information includes a description of the vehicle he used to leave the scene and some good bank surveillance photos."The robber presented a demand note in all of the Sacramento robberies. A verbal demand for money was utilized in the Rocklin robbery.Following the robbery of the Guaranty Bank Tuesday, the "Grandpa Bandit" was seen leaving the scene in an early 1990s, gray primer, Toyota pickup truck, Dupre said.This is the fourth robbery officials believe the man has committed. He is also suspected in the June 5 robbery of the U.S. Bank on Ethan Way in Sacramento, the July 10 robbery of the Five Star Bank in Rocklin and the July 25 robbery of the Bank of the West on Fair Oaks Boulevard in Sacramento.Anyone with information regarding these robberies is asked to contact the FBI in Sacramento at (916) 481-9110 or the Rocklin Police Department at (916) 625-5400.
