Recipe: Butch's Dog Food

Jensen altered the proportions of the recipe for her dog from what was printed. Her altered recipe is below. The recipe also contains garlic, which the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals says has a "toxic potential" in pets. As with anything involving your pet's health, all diet changes should be OK'd by a veterinarian.Ingredients for 8 days - 1 cup, two times per day.3 cups raw rice3 shredded carrots3 cloves garlic1 1/2 pound ground turkey3 eggsCook 3 cups of rice in largest sauce pan with 6 cups of water. Shred carrots. Press or mince garlic. Saute garlic in oil for 30 seconds. Add carrots and cook until soft-ish. Add turkey and cook until medium-rare. Turn off heat. Beat eggs separately, to make sure they mix in evenly. Then mix in evenly. Put fry pan on countertop to add rice. Mix in evenly. When cool enough to handle, put 1 cup packed in snack-size zip lock bags, pressing all the air out. Put 2-3 days worth of food in refrigerator. Put remainder in freezer.
