Richard Plante Jr.

Richard Louis Plante Jr. died Sept. 15, 2003, in Auburn. He was 54. Born March 27, 1949, in Massachusetts, Mr. Plante was a resident of the Auburn area for the past eight years and lived previously in Santa Cruz for more than 17 years.He was an electrical service dispatcher for PG&E for more than 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He loved music and song writing.He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Duncan-Plante of Auburn; daughters, Melissa Plante of Auburn and Becky Feemster of Santa Cruz; sons, Rich Plante and Nick Plante both of Pennsylvania; father, Richard Plante of North Carolina; mother, Alice Plante of Maryland; brothers, Ron Plante of Iowa, Randy Plante of Washington, D.C., and Russ Plante of Maryland; sister, Lisa Dwyer of North Carolina; and two grandchildren.A memorial Mass will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, 1162 Lincoln Way, Auburn. Inurnment will be private.Chapel of the Hills is in charge of arrangements.
