Colfax spikers, Placer netters get ready for major clashes

The Colfax girls volleyball team beat Lincoln Tuesday night with the kind of game coach Vicky Satterlee hopes to see again on Thursday night.With Oakmont coming up the hill for a key Pioneer Valley League clash next, the Lady Falcons zapped the Lady Zebras 25-16, 25-12, 25-15.Kara Frederick had four kills and 11 aces, Kaci Claxton nine kills, 95-percent serving and two digs, Sarah Lampley eight kills, a block and three digs, Meghann Adams 15 jump-serve points, six kills, and Sophia Ellis six kills and a block for Colfax, which is tied with Oakmont and Bear River atop the PVL with 6-1 records.Jessica Gall had two kills, four blocks and perfect serving, Crystal Witz two kills and five digs, Ashley Manning four kills, Karen Denzler 15 service points and five digs, Jessica Keller strong all-around play off the bench, and Kayla Silva 14 assists and great serving.Colfax?s JV won 25-11, 25-23 behind strong play from Amanda Hepple, Rachel Scalzo and Brittany Thompson.
