Auburn's gold discovered in Vega, residents

We have lived in Placer County for over 60 years. All the growth and pending new developments have not changed the ?small-town friendly atmosphere? for us. Gold is found again in Auburn!I was involved in a small accident in Newcastle a few weeks ago. Ray Vega?s daughter was driving behind me and reported the accident to her father. Ray Vega was a much loved and appreciated retired fire chief from Newcastle. And he knew exactly what to do in the case of such an incident.Ray Vega sent one of the officers to my home to inform my wife. She found me at Denny?s in Newcastle sitting a little dazed at the counter, surrounded by the caring employees of Denny?s and the local CHP. I was soon in the ambulance and on my way to the hospital for a checkup. After a checkup I returned to Denny?s where everyone showed their concern and love for me again ? making sure that I survived.The auto was towed to Placer Auto Body and Terry LaBrot helped us by giving us good advice and letting us know our safety in whether or not the car should be repaired was of importance to him.
