Mary Jane Tickle

Mary Jane Tickle died on March 27, 2004, at the age of 84.Born May 14, 1920 in Redwood City, Calif., she worked as manager of the Fort Mason PX during World War II. She retired from the Sterling Drug Company in Menlo Park after 25 years of service and moved to Nevada City in 1968.She was an active member in several Masonic organizations including Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Trinity Shrine No. 65 of Grass Valley, Placer Auburn Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughter of the Nile Club and Order of the Amaranth in Nevada City.She is survived by her sons, Terry and Stephen Cole; stepdaughters Connie Blair and Lea Rose Carlson; brothers Alpheus Russell and Wayne Russell; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Mrs. Tickle was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Henry Tickle and her son, David Cole.Services will be held at Lassila Funeral Chapel in Auburn at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 31 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
