Is real estate broker Rick Hilton broke?

Vanity Fair mag wags Paris Hilton's Daddy and Mummy have been seasonally renting-out their seven-bedroom, seven-and-a-half-bath house with swimming pool and high hedges in Southampton, New York for years. Located on Fordune Drive in Water Mill, the Hilton estate occupies 2.7 acres in Fordune, a gated enclave, once the 235-acre Henry Ford II estate. Back-story is that an Italian businessman purchased the Ford estate from Ford's ex-wifey Anne in 1975 for the fire sale price of $1,800,000, and then sliced it into 40 estate-sized parcels. Property records, so they say, reveal the Hiltons snapped one up in 1999 for $2,385,000.The summer house-for-rent is a short dash to the famously gay beach at the bottom of Fowlers Lane. A wealthy New Yorker, who viewed the house, sniffs about Rick and Kathy Hilton, "He has money from his real-estate business, but it's nothing that can cover their lifestyle."Allegedly, she has heard this summer's renter tried desperately to get some of the problems fixed. And allegedly the tenant griped to the Hiltons, "Do I have to give you another $300,000 to get screens on the windows?"The unnamed continues, "Usually when people rent [out] a house for the summer, they clean it up. This house was left exactly the way it was when the renters saw it in November," apparently referring to a 2006 preview of the property. Deliciously unrelenting is the source, "Everything in it is moldy and filthy. Most of the screens on the windows are broken. Their dogs are obviously not house-trained. But they don't see it. These are people whose daughter has sex on tape, and they think that's fine." Perhaps she read biographer Jerry Oppenheimer's book 'House of Hilton' that said he found 25-year-old Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy, were not fazed when "One Night In Paris" was leaked onto the internet, and eventually released as a DVD, without her permission. And he was quoted by the New York Daily News newspaper as saying, "I have family sources telling me that Rick and Kathy Hilton are proud of everything Paris has done, including the X-rated video that launched her to this international stardom, infamy and fame. It is a bizarre family. Behind the scenes her parents were not opposed to the video because that totally launched her.""Poor" Rick Hilton co-owns Hilton & Hyland, a high-end real estate business in L.A., which recently handled, among other deals, the sale of Paris' Spanish-style Hollywood Hills home for a tad under $4 million.Now that 80-year-old Paris granddaddy Barron Hilton, founder of the Hilton Hotels Corporation in 1946, has announced he is bequeathing a $2.231 billion estate to charitable use, including an immediate $1.2 billion to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, a charity founded by his father in 1944, this leaves a paltry $69 mil for his surviving clan to beef over at the dinner table. It is lively speculation that Barron remains upset over granddaughter's video appearance and orange-suit stint. And just maybe he thinks son Rick isn't a responsible parent or a good businessman.The octogenarian forgets what his daddy Conrad Nicholson Hilton used to say, "Success seems to be connected to action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don't quit" and "If you are 100 percent occupied, you are not charging enough rent."
