People in Business: Dialectical Behavior Therapy Center opens in Auburn

Dr. Susan Landes has established a Dialectical Behavior Therapy Center in Auburn.The center is for the treatment of borderline personality disorder, which can be manifested in behaviors such as cutting, suicide attempts, shoplifting and bulimia. The therapy also can be effective with substance abuse and other impulsivity issues, Landes said.The program is six months of treatment with group and individual sessions."My hope is that people in the community who have loved ones or family members suffering from borderline personality disorder will (learn about the program) and get some help," Landes said.Landes also offers traditional psychotherapy with a specialty in marriage and family issues.She has been working in the fields of mental health and addiction since 1987. She received her master's degree in Clinical Psychology and Specialization in Alcohol and other Drug Treatment from J.F. Kennedy University in 1989, and a doctorate from the Wright Institute in 2003.
