March 27 Casey Alger, 44, of North Highlands was arrested after a 6:20 a.m. traffic stop at Val Verde Road and Wells Avenue in Loomis on suspicion of being a felon in possession of bear mace and possession of shaved "bump" keys suitable for auto thefts. At the time of his arrest, Alger was on probation for a Sacramento County crime. March 25 Two mailboxes were vandalized in the 10400-block Mount Vernon Road outside Auburn. Common Cider, 2115 Airport Court Road in North Auburn, reported 10 propane tanks were stolen from a storage locker. Value of the missing tanks was $1,500. Richard Christian Holesapple, 28, of Granite Bay was arrested on suspicion of identity theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest took place at Hadleigh Drive and Parkford Circle in Granite Bay. March 24 River City Rentals, 2155 Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn, was burglarized. There was $500 damage to a window and $200 in cash was missing. Deputies assisted with a California Highway Patrol arrest of Rojelio Gomes, a 45-year-old Fairfield man, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrest happened in the 17800-block of Applegate's Lake Arthur Road. Uriah Samuel Redmond, a 31-year-old transient, was arrested at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital in North Auburn on suspicion of resisting arrest after reportedly causing a disturbance at the facility, refusing to leave and throwing items at hospital staff. March 23 Profanities were spray-painted on Greenhills Elementary School in the 8200-block of Greenhills Way in Granite Bay. Kevin Matthew Moore, 31, of Roseville was arrested at Dorchester Lane and Swan Lake Drive in Granite Bay on suspicion of public intoxication. March 22 A radio was stolen from an unlocked truck parked in the 500-block of Old Grass Valley Road in Colfax. The radio was valued at $100. March 21 Copper cable worth $500 was stolen from in the 23100-block Placer Hills Road in Colfax. Larry R. Shepard, 41, of Citrus Heights, was arrested near the King Road-Stagecoach Trail crossroads in Loomis on suspicion of being a convicted felon in possession of pepper spray. The arrest followed a report of a suspicious vehicle. March 20 A 66-year-old Colfax man reported being bilked in a phone scam by a con artist posing as a Placer County Sheriff's Office employee. The victim said he lost $1,500 in Google Play gift cards. March 18 A 57-year-old Sacramento woman reported that someone tore off the BMW emblems off the car she had parked in the rural Lincoln area's Thunder Valley Casino and Resort garage. The door was also damaged. An estimated $5,400 in property was reported stolen from a construction site on East Catlett Road in Lincoln. March 13 A stolen van was found in the 5900-block Horseshoe Bar Road in Loomis.
