Shop Auburn for good shopping experiences

In reference to (May 9's Journal) article "Small businesses are the backbone of Auburn," I'd like to say that I always think Auburn first. I'm relieved to NOT go down the hill when I can buy here. As convenient as it is to find what I want here, I do not want any more expansion of chain store growth in Auburn! When we moved here 19 years ago, I realized that I would need to go down the hill for some things. I am still fine with that. That being said, I would like to give a big shout out to Site for Sore Eyes on New Airport Road. I'm sorry that I didn't get her name when I took a chance dropping by to get my glasses (that I didn't purchases from them) fixed so I could continue my day without going to Kaiser in Roseville. Not only did she fix them she gave me a new case to put them in (since the case was nearly broken as well) . I gladly offered to pay her. She refused. Minor fix but huge appreciation from me. Another day I went to the Sandalwood House kitchen store on Grass Valley Highway seeking reusable straws. They had them, and everything else kitchen I could imagine. This store is not only well stocked, the customer service is top notch. Store owners/employees that really want to help you. I encourage you to stop by. You won't be sorry. Sincere smiles and happy to help you attitudes is what makes my shopping experience a good one. Patronize Auburn first whenever you can. Keep the chain stores down the hill.
