Aug. 5 Derek Justin Woodyard, a 31-year-old Auburn transient, was arrested on suspicion of walking away from an officer at First Street and B Avenue in North Auburn as he was being issued a citation for trespassing at North Auburn's Safeway store. Compression socks valued at $100 were reported stolen off a porch in the 11300-block of North Auburn's Rain Tree Court. Aug. 4 Daniel James Cofskewiler, 39, and Margaret Alane Young, 54, both of North Highlands, were arrested on suspicion of ID and mail theft, possession of burglary tools and possession of meth. The arrests followed a 2:22 a.m. stop of a black 2000 GMC Sonoma and discovery inside of bolt cutters, screwdrivers, flashlights, pry bars, gloves and two-way radios. Mail and packages from addresses near the Highway 49 and Palm Avenue traffic stop belonged to more than 10 victims. Wesley Donald Miller, a 36-year-old Sacramento transient, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The arrest happened in the 11800-block Education Street of North Auburn. Christina Ann Girard, 31, of Cottonwood was arrested on suspicion of stolen-vehicle possession, meth possession and meth-pipe possession. The stolen 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan was pulled over at Highway 65 and Sunset Boulevard in the Roseville area. Aug. 3 Victor Alvarado, a 40-year-old Sacramento transient was arrested on suspicion of meth possession and operating a vehicle without an interlock in place. Brittany Lee Gatley, 35, of Loomis was cited on suspicion of meth and meth-pipe possession. She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped at Brace Road and Betty Lane in Loomis. Brandy Lee Beglau, a 40-year-old transient, was arrested on Interstate 80 east of Riverside Avenue in the Roseville area on suspicion of possession of meth and other drugs, a warrant and a probation violation. Aug. 2 Susan Laura Daly, 56, of Auburn was cited on suspicion of shoplifting $75 in merchandise from North Auburn's Target store. She was released on a promise to appear in court. A 30-year-old Granite Bay man reported being assaulted by another man wielding pepper spray in the 8700-block Auburn Folsom Road in Granite Bay. The suspect who left the scene of the incident shortly after 10 p.m. in a red Jeep Wrangler was described as balding, 30 to 40 years old, and wearing a white shirt and bluejeans. A bike valued at $800 was reported stolen in a burglary at an 8500-block Manor Road residence in Roseville. A total of $650 in property was stolen from a vehicle in the 8600-block of Granite Bay's Pendleton Drive. Aug. 1 Two juveniles threw rocks to break windows on autos in the 1900-block of North Auburn's Grass Valley Highway. David Scott Greenwood, 28, of Colfax was arrested on suspicion of a probation violation for alcohol consumption. The arrest followed a 9:14 a.m. report of a man sleeping in the women's restroom at the Colfax Children's Splash Park, 101 Park Hill Drive in Colfax. July 30 A vehicle was burglarized in the 2500-block of North Auburn's Bell Road. Losses were estimated at $110. July 28 A tail lamp was broken on a vehicle at Dyer Lane and Tan Woods outside Roseville, causing $50 damage. No date given James Garrett Scott, 32, of Elk Grove was arrested at Atwood Road and Richardson Drive on an outstanding warrant and obstruction after fleeing on foot from a deputy.
