Auburn Aces set volleyball clinic, tryout dates

The Auburn Aces Volleyball Club has listed dates for clinics and tryouts for the upcoming 2020 club season. The two clinics are set for Sunday, Oct. 20, and Sunday, Oct. 27, at Placer High School. Registration each day for U12, U1 and U14 players will begin at 10:30 a.m. with clinics following from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration for U15, U16 and U17 players on Oct. 20 and Oct. 27 will begin at 12:30 pm. with clinics beginning at 1 p.m. and running through to 2:30 p.m. Tryouts for the Aces' U18 team will be held Sunday, Oct. 6, with registration starting at 9:30 a.m. and the tryouts following from 10 a.m. to noon. Tryouts for the other age groups will be held Saturday, Nov. 9. with the following age groups: U12 (registration 8:30 a.m., tryouts 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.); U13-14 (registration 10:30 a.m., tryouts 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.); and U15-16-17 (registration 1:30 p.m., tryouts 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Colfax Baseball Cornhole Tournament The Colfax High baseball team will be sponsoring its second annual "Cornhole" on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Living War Memorial Park in Colfax. The tournament runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry fee for the tournament is $50 per player or $100 for two-player teams. Cash prizes and raffle prizes will go to the winners. "Sink a Putt" for Soroptimist The Soroptimist of Colfax will be sponsoring a fundraising golf tournament on Sunday, Oct. 12, at Auburn Valley Golf Club. The tournament will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun tee time start of 8 a.m. Play will consist of four-player scramble teams. An entry fee of $125 per player includes golf, range balls, cart, tee prizes and either a tri-tip or barbecue chicken lunch following the round.
