Thanks to many for Hillmen Tailgater celebration

Wow! What a night at the Hillmen Foundation's Tailgater in Central Square. A spectacular evening bringing the community and fellow Placer alumni together to raise funds in support of the foundation's efforts offering grants aimed at enriching Placer students' academic, club and athletic experiences.The highlight was a special and emotional tribute to our Hillmen heroes, Bud Anderson and Dean Laird — two WWII Ace Pilots and fellow 1939 cassmates. All followed by a parade to the game where these heroes were further honored. This tribute wouldn't be possible without the help of the Auburn Firefighters and the Auburn Police Department. There is no way we can fully express our deep appreciation and gratitude for the efforts from Auburn Fire and Police. Thank you so much.Last and certainly not least, we are thankful for the many businesses and individuals who invested their time and treasure to make our event a huge success. Thank you to the United Auburn Indian Community for partnering with us. Thank you to Recology, Maki Heating and Air along with the Christensen Family for your support. Let's not forget Old Town Pizza, Wilson, Wilson & Taylor, Matt Spokely-Auburn city councilman, David Odom-Ameriprise Financial, Carolyn Metzker-Lyon Real Estate, Collins & Collins Attorney's at Law, Peter's Engineering, Jenni Johnston-Edward Jones, Dr. Bill Kirby, the White House, Roper's Jewelers, Dennis & Gloria Kalkowski, Shelby Crider, Savemart and Liquor Outlet for their support as well. A huge thank you to Local Heroes for the incredible food, Vina Castellano and Crooked Lane Brewery for the wine and beer along with KAHI Radio and the Auburn Journal for helping us spread the word. A special thank you to the City of Auburn, Auburn Public Works and Placer High School for working closely with us to ensure all of the logistics ran smoothly and the event went off without a hitch. Many hands make light work, and we are appreciative of all who helped make our event possible.It's wonderful to be a part of such a supportive community, and we were reminded of that last Friday night.
