Folsom Jr. Bulldogs first round of playoffs The Jr. Peewees, Jr. Midgets and Midget teams had byes Peewees Folsom 36, Lincoln 0 The Jr. Bulldog Peewees opened the first round of the Sierra Athletic Conference playoffs with a convincing victory over a tough and determined Jr. Fighting Zebra squad. This was the second time these two teams met this year and as in their regular season meeting, the Jr. Bulldogs defense proved tenacious and did not allow a Jr. Fighting Zebra score. Leading the way for the Jr. Bulldog defense was the stout line play of Isaiah Williams, Troy Tabor, Chase Wyhlidko and Ryan Hardeman. These linemen shut down the Jr. Fighting Zebras run game and kept pressure on their quarterback the entire game. Additionally, linebackers Dillon Wolfe, Nick Wegner, Sebastian Upshire and Jordan Triplett made multiple tackles on Jr. Fighting Zebra running backs. Logan Hara, Jax Kelley and Zane Grabowski were responsible for making tackles and braking up Jr. Fighting Zebra passes in the secondary while August Dupree recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Offensively, the Jr. Bulldogs were led by quarterbacks Aidan Lopez and Blake Nycum, who together threw and ran for more than 100 yards and a couple of touchdowns. Tough offensive line play by Max Norberg, Anthony Benavides, Zakary Beyersdorf, Luka Nash, Eoin Vander Veen and Vlad Dyakanov allowed the quarterbacks the time to find their receivers. The receivers hauling in the passes included Tariq Lofton, EJ Coleman, August Dupree and Jax Kelley. Ryan Ramos at fullback also scored on a scamper up the middle for a touchdown. The Jr. Bulldog Peewee's now prepare to face a tough Jr. Capital Christian squad in the second round of the playoffs, which take place this Saturday at Livermore Field.
