Bring baby Jesus back to church's Nativity display

The year was 1998 and the church had been newly renovated when several members decided the old Nativity display was looking sadly worn and a new display should be provided to enhance the new look of the church. Full-scale plans were bought and the project was begun by those volunteers.The central figures, of course, were Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Included to complete the display were the three Wise Men and their camels, shepherds and sheep, a donkey and a cow. A rustic stable was built of ready to assemble parts and lighting to show it all off after dark.Someone "helped" the baby Jesus find a new home, so a replacement was provided, which also "wandered off." A drunk driver skidded through the church front yard, "killing" one camel, which has not been replaced. We just pretend that two Wise Men share one camel.The Nativity display has been without baby Jesus for several years, but this essential character would be most joyously welcomed if it should mysteriously appear in the stable, or be delivered to the church so the display would once again be complete (except for the "dead camel"). Despite the mentioned problems, once again the beautiful reminder of the Christmas miracle is on display to enhance those who view it.Merry Christmas.Glen Cleveland, Auburn
