Safeway restroom arrest; Porch-pirate pick theft; More

Dec. 1 Julia Ann Karafa, 37, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The arrest took place in the 800-block Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn. A 58-year-old Auburn man reported losing $624 after his bank card information was used without his permission for internet transactions. Nov. 30 A package containing guitar picks was stolen from a mailbox in the 4200-block Tom & Jerry Lane of Auburn. Value of the missing plectrums was estimated at $20. Mark Dean Try, a 40-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of meth possession and theft of lost property. He had initially been stopped while riding his bike at Sierra College Boulevard and East Roseville Parkway in Granite Bay. The lost property was identified as a drill valued at $150. Nov. 29 Adam Richard Dean, a 23-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the North Auburn Safeway. The arrest followed a report from Safeway staff saying they had repeatedly asked a man to exit the restroom and the store. The man had been in the restroom for 45 minutes. Dean had been previously walked off the property. Gary Lee Clark, 68, of Auburn was turned over to the California Highway Patrol for arrest on suspicion of DUI. Clark was followed by a patrol car with flashing lights on for a mile but did not yield until a stop on Bell Road and Richardson Drive in North Auburn. Nov. 27 A 37-year-old Meadow Vista man reported someone used his AppleID to buy iPhones. Taylor Mayd Cline, 27, of Lincoln was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting $137.93 in merchandise from the Target store in the 2700-block Bell Road of North Auburn. Nov. 25 A garage and home were burglarized in the 1400-block Ponderosa Way of Colfax.
