DUI driver gets 4-years

A Citrus Heights woman, who pleaded guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter after a deadly crash in April of 2019, was sentenced to four years in state prison Friday, Feb. 7. Alexis Little, 22, was arrested in the April 9, 2019 DUI crash near Folsom Lake College that killed Joshua Lowery, 28, of Cameron Park, a passenger in her SUV. Little was driving a Subaru Forester on E. Bidwell Street around 2 a.m. when her SUV struck a light pole and overturned. Little and the other three passengers were transported to local hospitals with moderate injuries. Folsom Police arrested Little for driving under the influence of alcohol. Officials said one of the passengers, who initially called 911, said Little was driving over the speed limit. In September of 2019, Little pleaded guilty to one count of gross vehicular manslaughter. In California, this carries a prison sentence between four to 10 years. In addition to the sentencing on Friday, Little was denied probation, and has to pay $300 in restitution, according to Sacramento Superior Court records.
