Gottschalks lists store sites with commercial Realtor

Today is the deadline for bidders to come forward to make an offer for Gottschalks. A group that specializes in liquidation already is set to buy the assets when the bankrupt retailer is sold at auction March 30, according to an Associated Press report.The department store filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January.The consortium of buyers includes SB Capital Group LLC of New York, Tiger Capital Group LLC of Boston, Great American Group LLC of Los Angeles and Hudson Capital Partners LLC of Massachusetts.On Monday, Gottschalks listed its 61 stores with DJM Realty, a commercial real estate firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston. The listing on DJM's Web site includes lease or sublease of the 40,000-square-foot Auburn store located in the Elm Avenue Town Center.DJM Realty is also handling the sale of property for Goody's and Circuit City, which have also filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.According to Bloomberg.com, Gottschalks is in talks with three potential bidders that could save some of the stores from closing — Golden Gate Capital Corp., GK Development Inc. and Spain-based retailer El Corte Ingles.It is not known if the Auburn store will remain open.Gottschalks, based in Fresno, was founded in 1904. It has 58 department stores and three specialty stores in California, Alaska, Oregon, Nevada and Idaho.
