Gold Country Media and the Auburn Journal are continuing to operate during the COVID-19 restrictions. While our staff is committed to bringing you the current news of your community, we are taking many safety measures to ensure that our readers, our advertising clients and our staff are safe from the spread of COVID-19. This is being practiced in our offices as well as out in the field as we report and deliver the news. Our office lobbies are currently closed to the general public. Our editorial, advertising and legal staff members are practicing social distancing recommendations as they perform their day-to-day duties either on location or remotely. We are doing a great deal of community interaction by phone and email during this time to serve everyone's needs. When it comes to getting the news to you, our website, www.auburnjournal.com, continues to operate 24 hours a day, keeping you updated on breaking news in our community. Our print edition continues to be delivered to the homes of our subscribers by our delivery staff, which is required to wear protective gloves on their routes, so rest assured that newspaper on the porch is safe, and fun to read. We know many of you are working hard to stay at home. We also know many of you have a routine in which you travel in the community and pick up our publication in one of the area racks. While we still are stocking our most essential racks at this time, we have gone an extra step to bring your community newspaper to you. For a limited time, we are sending our E-edition of the Auburn Journal to more than 14,000 households electronically each Wednesday and Saturday. This is an electronic version of the newspaper, complete with pages you can flip through on the screens of your computer, pads and smartphones. This service doesn't come without a cost, and thanks to the local businesses who are willing to sponsor this service while advertising to our readers to stay visible and viable in these times, we are able to provide this to the community at large.
