Publisher's Clearing House scam; KFC vandalism; more

April 2 A 68-year-old Granite Bay resident reported being bilked out of $750 after an unknown individual claiming to be "David Cooper" from the Publisher's Clearing House advised her she won $2 million and a Mercedes but had to make a payment with gift cards to release the funds. John Melvin Stiehl, 53, of Auburn was cited on suspicion of unlawful possession of suspected meth. The citation followed a traffic stop in the area of Church and Yego streets in Penryn. April 3 A 67-year-old Auburn resident reported being bilked out of $2,497 after an unknown individual claiming to be an Amazon fraud employee advised they needed access to her computer and bank accounts. April 4 Jared Michael Bonds, 39, of Grass Valley was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and possession of a loaded firearm. The arrest followed a report of a vehicle parked in a planter box in the 2100 block of Grass Valley Highway in Auburn. Anita Marie Lopez, 29, of Sacramento and Sarah Elizabeth Simmons, 37, of Sacramento were arrested in the Auburn Folsom Road and Douglas Boulevard area of Granite Bay on suspicion of destruction of evidence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, bringing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia into a jail, conspiracy and identity theft and fraudulent possession of personal identification information. April 6 A 58-year-old Auburn resident reported a theft in the 3300 block of Wasatch Drive in Auburn. Items worth $1,210 were stolen from a vehicle. A 64-year-old Granite Bay resident reported a theft in the 8200 block of W Hidden Lakes Drive in Granite Bay. A FedEx box containing legal case exhibits was stolen. No monetary loss was reported. James Pryde, 33, of Roseville, Matthew Douglass, 32, of Roseville and Jamison Lipps, 33, of Oakland were arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary, felony vandalism and trespassing in the 6800 block of Douglas Boulevard in Roseville. April 7 Jerry Wayne Thomason, 54, of Lincoln was arrested in the Lost River Road area of Lincoln on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, delaying or resisting arrest and vandalism less than $400. Vandalism was reported at KFC in the 13300 block of Lincoln Way in Auburn. Two windows and a glass door, worth $2,800, were damaged. A 67-year-old Granite Bay resident reported a theft in the 3200 block of Swetzer Road in Loomis. An unknown individual cut the lock on an outside propane storage cabinet and stole 10 propane tanks worth $230.
