Trespasser survives fall from Foresthill Bridge, shares photos as warning to others

An Elk Grove woman fell after trespassing on the Foresthill Bridge on Wednesday evening and is now sharing her photos, taken before falling, to warn others from doing the same. An Elk Grove couple visited the bridge after seeing TikTok videos of others trespassing underneath the bridge, the Placer County Sheriff's Office reported. The woman fell off a girder from about 20 feet high. According to Angela Musallam, public information officer for the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the woman is expected to recover from her injuries. Individuals have been trespassing onto sections of the bridge that are not easily accessible to post photos and videos to social media. The Sheriff's Office also reported having to escort four individuals, two adults from Sacramento County and two juveniles from El Dorado County, off the bridge's maintenance catwalk Monday. Each was cited for trespassing. Last month, 20 individuals were cited for trespassing on the bridge over the course of two weeks. According to the Sheriff's Office, the maximum fine for trespassing is $2,000. "Risk of death is NOT worth your social media post," the Sheriff's Office said. "STAY OFF THE BRIDGE."
