Rocklin's Quarry Park Adventures reopens Friday

Quarry Park Adventures, Rocklin's outdoor aerial adventure park, reopens Friday with state Phase 3 guidelines for outdoor recreation and family entertainment centers in place with city of Rocklin guidance. Social distancing will be in effect. Businesses temporarily closed in March because of the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders. "We are thrilled to be able to reopen, with strict safety guidelines for our staff family and guests, as the weather begins to warm up," said Dylan Burt, owner and managing partner of Adventure Operations, LLC. "Families have been at home for months so this will give them a great local option to get outside and enjoy some fun, family entertainment together." All attractions will be open, with advance reservations highly recommended and operated at limited capacity. Reservations are limited to not more than 10 guests per adventure start time and park officials ask that you book and visit only with your household members. In addition, a no-touch thermometer will be used at check-in prior to guests entering the gear-up area. A new pair of adventure gloves, included in the admission price, will be provided for each booked guest in the quarry. Guests are also asked to wear masks in the park's common areas and if maintaining social distance is not possible for brief moments. Masks can be lowered when actively on the adventure courses, provided social distancing is maintained. The family-friendly park includes eight adventure zones from zip lines and free-fall jumps to tranquil paddle boat rides and a kids' adventure area. The adventure park is built into and around what was one of the largest working granite quarries in California, the Big Gun Quarry. The park utilizes the huge quarry's walls, the quarry's floor, the quarry rim, the two-acre lake and the 60-foot-high waterfall. "Quarry Park Adventures is a treasure for Rocklin and the greater South Placer community," said Phil Lewis, Rocklin Parks and Recreation director. "We are thrilled to be able to reopen this facility to serve families in the region as they are allowed to venture out and enjoy entertainment together again."
