Mother of July 6 homicide victim arrested

On July 6, a fatal shooting took place at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Cirby that left 19-year-old Angel Cornaggia dead and one person injured. On July 29, Cornaggia's mother, Angela Cornaggia, was arrested by the Roseville Police Department for identity theft and drug possession. In a July 30 press release, Roseville public information officer Rob Baquera said that the July 6 homicide investigation is still underway and detectives have not found the suspects but are making progress. Detectives found the Toyota Camry involved in the shooting and have processed it for evidence, according to Baquera. As the investigation is ongoing, Baquera said that the Police Department is unable to disclose when and where they found the car. Cornaggia's mother went to the Roseville Police Station on July 29 to help with the investigation, according to Baquera. Investigators discovered that her boyfriend, Julio Rodriguez was connected to a July 28 drive-by shooting along B Street in Roseville and had dropped her off at the station, Baquera said. According to Baquera, the shooting took place at 4:20 p.m. July 28 and Rodriguez was the only occupant of the car. Rodriguez took two shots into two separate homes, according to Baquera, and it is unknown if the shooting was gang-related. Rodriguez is a former felon, according to Baquera, who was unable to release any information about Rodriguez as the Roseville Police Department has no previous records on Rodriguez. Officers arrested Rodriguez July 29 and found the vehicle he was driving was rented with a stolen I.D. by Cornaggia, who was found to be in possession of a stolen Missouri drivers license, stolen Social Security card and narcotics. Rodriguez led officers to the Honda Accord that was involved in the July 28 drive-by shooting and found a pistol, AR-15 rifle and tactical vest, along with evidence of the shooting, said Baquera. Rodriguez was arrested July 29 by the Roseville Police Department for being a felon in possession of a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of a crime, discharging a firearm at an inhabited building, attempted murder, possession of meth for sale, and a parole violation.
