Sacramento man, a felon, arrested for weapon, drug possession in Colfax

A Sacramento man was arrested Nov. 27 on suspicion of weapon and drug possession in Colfax. Placer County Sheriff's deputies responded to Paoli Lane after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies observed a baggie of Xanax pills in sight when contacting the driver, identified as Anson Corris Radney, 35. The Sheriff's Office reported Radney was confirmed to be a convicted felon. A search of the vehicle revealed 3.3 grams of meth, 2.2 pounds of marijuana, glass pipes, spoons with heroin residue, a box of miscellaneous bullets, a 12-gauge shotgun with a shaved serial number, a loaded .38 pistol, a leaded sap (a flat, beavertail-shaped leather impact weapon) and a loaded, sawed-off Ruger 10-22 semi-automatic rifle, according to the Sheriff's Office. Radney was charged with possession of a short-barrel rifle, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, altering a serial number, possession of Xanax and meth, possession of a high-capacity magazine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a sap. Radney was released from custody Nov. 29, according to Angela Musallam, public information officer for the Placer County Sheriff's Office.
