Auburn couple Mark and Debbie Lund celebrate golden anniversary

Mark and Debbie Lund celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 31. They've been together since they were teenagers, they married young, their children married young, and they became grandparents at 44. "We've had an amazing life. We've been really blessed. We sort of grew up together," Debbie Lund says. "We share a lot of interests. We do a lot of entertaining with our family, we love to travel." The Lunds, who were married Jan. 31, 1971, have lived in Auburn for 26 years and spend their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona, decided to postpone their anniversary celebration until 2022. Their children, knowing "we were feeling a bit blue that our party had to be cancelled," according to Debbie, treated their parents to a "romantic private dinner" in Chandler, Arizona, that included cards from family and friends, and red roses from Mark. "The evening was a delight," Debbie says. Mark is a retired CEO and founder of Community First Bank. Debbie is retired from the Nevada County Sheriff's Dept. Their children are sons Matt Lund (Angela) of Grass Valley and Ryan Lund (Kristen) of Auburn, and daughter Lark Lund of Eudora, Kansas. The Lunds have six grandsons and one granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters.
