Lincoln golf caps busy week with best outing to date

Lincoln boys golf had its best round of the season Thursday against Oakmont at Diamond Oaks. Jack Fidler also had his best showing with a 2-over 38 in the 231-273 win over the Vikings. Fidler has been the low card for the Zebras in five of their six matches this season. Lincoln recovered from a 203-237 Monday loss against Ponderosa with a 27-stroke win Tuesday against West Park. Fidler led the Zebras in both contests, shooting a 40 on Monday and a 41 on Tuesday. Collin MacLeod (44), Trey Miner (50), Cole Chapple (52), Zach Stacy (54) and Will Cubias (54) rounded out Lincoln's scorecard in Tuesday's 241-268 win over West Park, which was led by Carter Roane (42) for the fourth time this season. Roane led the Panthers on Monday with a 47 in the 199-263 win over Rio Linda. Roane was followed by teammates Landon Smith (49), Chase Clawson (50), Josh Huber (53) and Owen Schmidt (63). Oakmont, who lost to Nevada Union 247-288 on Monday, shaved 40 strokes off for its Tuesday performance with its first win of the season against Rio Linda. Max Metzger led the Vikings in both efforts with a 48 on Monday and a 10-stroke decrease on Tuesday with a 38 against Rio Linda. Metzger also led Oakmont with a 45 on Thursday against Lincoln. George Buljan (46), Peyton Pederson (54), Sean Mathisen (55) and Zachary Schwartz (55) also helped Oakmont's cause on Tuesday. Placer suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday against Ponderosa, 208-227. The Bruins' Dominic Crofut and Mason Allen each posted 39s to share the low card, while Kyler Ostrom's 42 led the Hillmen. Placer bounced back with a 230-254 win over Nevada Union at Auburn Valley on Thursday. Nate Roche led the Hillmen for the first time this season with a 43.
