Margaret Anne "Midge" Golizio 9/5/1947 - 5/30/2021

Margaret Anne "Midge" Golizio passed away peacefully in her home on May 30, 2021 after a 3 1&frasl;2 year battle with End Stage Renal Disease. Midge was born on September 5, 1947 to Irene and John W . Dunn II, in Boston Massachusetts. The Dunn family made their way west and settled in Venice, California. Midge worked at Bob's Big Boy Restaurant then found her passion in healthcare and began working at Granada Hills Hospital in Physical Therapy. Midge moved to the "Valley" and began working at the Ram's Horn Restaurant on Ventura Blvd, where she laid eyes on the handsome Italian playing guitar in the band. Three months later on January 3, 1970, Midge and John were married. They remained married until half of Midges' heart broke when John passed away on June 2, 2001. They began their lives in Southern California, having three children and making lots of memories, and eventually moving to Auburn in 1979. After settling in Auburn, Midge attended Sierra College and completed the Licensed Vocational Nursing program. This was quite a journey and she made lots of friends. She was known as "Red" for her beautiful auburn red hair, her keen wit, sharp sense of humor and her genuine passion for people. She began working at Auburn Faith Community Hospital as a nurse on the Medical Floor. A work injury shifted her focus from patient care to Community Education. She founded Professional Educational Programs and for over 25 years, taught health and safety courses. Midge shared her passion and knowledge with her clients including, PG&E, Placer County, local schools and businesses, licensed child care providers, nurses, physicians, EMT's, care home providers and even future babysitters. Midge was preceded in death by the love of her life, John, her parents, John and Irene Dunn and her sister, Irene Dunn. She is survived by her siblings, Bud (Linda), Steven (Tina), Mary and Julia and numerous nieces and nephews. Midge is lovingly missed and remembered everyday by her children Angeline (Joey), Alyson (Chris), and Joe (Danielle), and by her adoring grandchildren Seth, Adam. Ryan, Conner and Tayler. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 17th @ 1:00 pm at Lassila's Funeral Chapel at 551 Grass Valley Hwy, Auburn.
