Local builder helps Folsom non profit expand

Taylor Morrison, the country's fifth largest homebuilder, has partnered with HomeAid Sacramento to double the size of Powerhouse Ministries' Women & Children's Center that currently houses 20 women and their children. Leading the construction on two new structures — a residence and an administrative building — Taylor Morrison will help the nonprofit organization support more families in need. Powerhouse Ministries' Women & Children's Center serves families and individuals struggling with addiction, abuse and poverty in the Folsom area. Focused on counseling and getting women back on their feet, the two-year program has a high success rate with 91 percent of the women who graduate the program never returning to a life of addiction. Several are now community leaders and no longer require low-income housing. Late last month, Powerhouse Ministries' Women & Children's Center in Folsom with key members of the Taylor Morrison team, HomeAid Sacramento and Powerhouse Ministries unveiled the new facility. "This project has been in the making for quite some time, and as big of an impact as it will bring to those in need, it has made an equal impact on our team members who have helped it come together," said Aren Bazzocco, Taylor Morrison Sacramento Division president. "We are thrilled to be able to give back to our hometown in such a meaningful way; I'm proud of our Sacramento team and their spirit of community service and generosity." Event attendees were the first to see two new structures, which includes a 4,588 square-foot residence building with 13 bedrooms and one RA bedroom, bathrooms, laundry facilities, showers and a lounge area; and a 1,642 square-foot office building comprised of a waiting area, conference room, play space and five offices.
