Placer County Sheriff's crime log: Attempted cell phone robbery, steel gate vandalism, more

Aug. 1 Sara Andrea Chiasson, 38, of Sacramento and Branndon Isador Lolo Estrada, 31, of Sloughhouse were arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools in the Athens Avenue and Lesvos Court area of Lincoln. Brandon James Copaciu, 19, of Woodland was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a BAC of .08 or more and driving with a BAC greater than .05 under 21 years old. The arrest took place in the Interstate 80 and Douglas Boulevard area of Roseville. Asiah Rae Patton, 25, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication in the Sunset Boulevard and Cincinnati Avenue area of Rocklin. Jonathan Xavier Lopez, 33, of Woodland was cited on suspicion of being a felon in possession of tear gas following a traffic stop for expired registration at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln. Vandalism was reported at Regional Park in the 3700 block of Richardson Drive in Auburn after graffiti was spray painted in the men's and women's restrooms. Aug. 2 Benjamin Jacob Bender, 48, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and resisting and delaying following a report of a suspicious person in the 17900 block of Lake Arthur Road in Applegate. Evelyn Alvarado Kirby, a 22-year-old Antelope transient, was arrested on suspicion of providing false identification. Louis Anthony McElfresh, 28, of Colfax was also arrested on suspicion of providing false identification, possession of a controlled substance and pipe possession. The arrests followed a traffic stop in the Indian Hill Road and Interstate 80 area of Newcastle. Vandalism was reported in the N Main Street area of Colfax after graffiti was spray painted on the brick siding of Lumenaris. A loss of $400 was reported. A 62-year-old Lincoln resident reported a burglary in the 34400 block of Canyon View Court in Alta after his trailer was broken into and $9,250 worth of items were stolen. Susan Michelle Hokett, 51, of Sparks, Nevada, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the Interstate 80 and Bowman Road area of Auburn. Aug. 3 Jose Mario Sortosaenz, 43, of Auburn was cited on suspicion of meth pipe possession, driving without a driver's license and driving with tinted windows in the Drive-In Way and Atwood Road area of Auburn. A 61-year-old Colfax resident reported felony vandalism in the Sierra Sky Court area after unknown subjects utilized a pickup truck and chain to pull down his steel gate, causing $2,000 in damage. Derick Michael Garcia Sr., 26, of Woodland was cited on suspicion of meth possession following a traffic stop for expired registration at Thunder Valley Casino. Aug. 4 A 44-year-old Auburn resident reported an attempted robbery in the 2500 block of Bell Road after an unknown female attempted to grab her cell phone out of her hand while she was waiting on the bus. When the victim attempted to grab the suspect, she punched and kicked the victim. The victim was able to recover her cell phone. The suspect is described as a 5-foot-5 White female, 110 pounds, with short gray hair in a men's style cut and wearing a black tank top and blue jean shorts. Ty Rogers, 27, of Grass Valley was cited on suspicion of meth possession and fentanyl possession in the 1700 block of Grass Valley Highway in Auburn.
