Pops social bound for Folsom

On Sept. 17 and Sept. 18, the Placer Pops Social will be at the Zittel Family Amphitheater in Historic Folsom. Placer Pops Chorale and Orchestra will perform a concert of American classic music from Broadway to rock 'n' roll. Taking place at 7:30 both nights, Placer Popspartners with Scott's Seafood for this event. Attendees can buy a ticket that also gives them appetizers, wine and a place to watch the show. Those tickets are $85 and they can be bought online at placerpops.com. Placer Pops has a choir of 60 members ranging in ages from 18 to 70. At this concert, they will perform American classics , the best of Broadway, pop and rock over the years. The set list includes Led Zeppelin and the Broadway musical "La La Land" songs. "We are excited to be performing outside and excited to have live performances so people can enjoy live music again," said Lorin Miller, the Placer Pops artistic director. "We are looking forward to performing again and we will also be back at the Harris Center this December for their holiday program." The concert will be in the Zittel Family Amphitheater from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 17 and Sept. 18. There will be free parking at 905 Leidesdorff St. and chairs will be provided at the amphitheater.
