Placer County Sheriff's crime log: Hidden Falls burglary, stolen phone returned for money, more

Aug. 24 A theft was reported at Campora Propane Services in the 20200 block of Paoli Lane in Colfax after tools were stolen from every propane truck on the lot and signs of forced entry were found on two storage sheds. A loss of $6,000 was reported. Timothy Lee Vanzandt, a 30-year-old Auburn transient, was arrested on suspicion of possession of fentanyl for sale and meth pipe possession in the 3500 block of Galena Drive in Auburn. Vandalism was reported at the wastewater treatment plant in the 23500 block of Grand View Avenue in Colfax after the entry control box was vandalized. A loss of $750 was reported. Nathaniel Thomas Bahling, 30, of Auburn was cited on suspicion of heroin possession and meth pipe possession in the 3500 block of Galena Drive in Auburn. A 46-year-old Roseville resident reported a burglary at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln after the front passenger window of his vehicle was broken and items worth $130 were stolen. A 41-year-old Lincoln resident reported a burglary in the 3500 block of Fruitvale Road after tools were stolen from his garage. A loss of $11,075 was reported. Aug. 25 A burglary was reported at Hidden Falls Regional Park in the 7500 block of Mears Place in Auburn after the rear passenger window of a vehicle belonging to a 27-year-old Sacramento resident was broken, and a wallet belonging to a 22-year-old Sebastopol resident was stolen. The Sebastopol resident later received notification from her bank that her card was used at CVS Pharmacy for gift cards worth $412. A loss of $799 was reported. Aug. 26 A 29-year-old Newcastle resident reported a theft and vandalism in the 7400 block of Ridge Road after various tools were taken from the outside of this residence and his fence was cut. A loss of $2,890 was reported. Gary Lee Simmons, 53, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. A 61-year-old Sacramento resident reported a theft at Thunder Valley Casino after her phone went missing. The victim later received a notification from ecoATM consumer claims advising they had her phone after an unknown individual attempted to turn it in for money. Lester Darnell Smith, 35, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of meth possession and meth pipe possession following a traffic stop at Thunder Valley Casino. Aug. 27 Dennis Marshall Lee, 48, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 4000 block of Grass Valley Highway in Auburn.
