Placer Artists Tour set for Nov. 12 to Nov. 14

Placer Artists Tour presents the 28th annual Placer Artists Studios Tour. This year, the tour features 111 artists showing in 66 Placer County artist studios and art galleries. This free self-driving tour takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 12 to Nov. 14. The tour is divided into eight easily accessible regions, making weekend planning easy. Roseville artists participating in this year's tour include three artists new to the tour, Elizabeth Dolbec-Oliveras, mixed media; Karen Burns, painting and Maggie Gao-Gehlman, ceramics, mixed media and painting. Other Roseville artists are Bobbi Baldwin, painting and sculpture; Michael Connor, photography and painting; William Lum, painting; Wayne Hopkins, photography; Leonard James, photography; Michelle Wood, painting, sculpture, resin and jewelry; and Andrea Martin, painting, mixed media and jewelry. Darlene Engellenner, patina copper, encaustic, mixed media and painting, and Phil Sargent, woodturning and pyrography, are longtime tour artists. Granite Bay has nine participating artists. Mya Louw is known for her large landscapes, slightly abstracted, filled with vivid color and joy, executed in oil, acrylic or pastel with palette knife and brush. Joe Strickland has been on the tour nearly every year. His latest endeavors are acrylic and epoxy on centuries-old reclaimed redwood and oil pigment sticks over acrylics on canvas. Other Granite Bay artists include Steven Taggart, photography; Linda Hoschler, jewelry and glass art; Allison Armstrong, oil painting; and Susie Bauer, painting and alcohol inks. Rocklin artists include Carolyn McNabb, drawing, painting, photography and digital imaging; Eric Reed, painting, drawing and fiber art; and Gini Crepp's mixed media. Long-time tour artists in this region include Diane Ruhkala Bell, Bill Reed, Andrea Martin and Connie McLennan. The Loomis/Penryn and Newcastle regions have 24 artists on the tour, including three artists new to the tour: Ryan Dominguez, acrylic; Louise McGown Bezark, gourd art; and Sharon Mansfield, fiber arts. High Hand Gallery in Loomis is also participating, hosting artists Ritu Atwal, Gini Crepps and Trisa Swerdlow. Also on the tour are Brenda Dominguez, Rodney Mott, Victoria Brooks, Rebecca Martinez, Jan Miller and Ann Ranlett.
