Albert Gonzalez 7/30/1939 - 10/18/2021

Albert Gonzalez, age 82, passed away peacefully Oct. 18th, 2021 at his son Andrew's home in Roseville, CA. He is survived by his wife Julia, sons Martin & Andrew, and granddaughter Korynn.A prayer service will be held at St. Rose Church, Nov. 5th at 10:30 am followed by a "Celebration of Life Reception," at 12:30 pm. The reception will be held at the Wood Creek Golf Course banquet room.Albert was born July 30th 1939 in Bear Canyon, Colorado to Rosa and Gregorio Gonzalez and was the second youngest of five children. In 1957, he graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Trinidad, CO. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged Oct. 8th 1962. After honorable discharge, he found residence in Reno, NV and eventually Roseville where he met then Ms. Julia Carrillo. The two fell in love and married in 1966. They bought a home in west Roseville in 1973 and have resided there 48 years plus.Albert wore many feathers in his cap; he volunteered at Diamond Oak Golf Course & Turkey Creek Golf Course, was the Umpire in Chief for Roseville Little League Baseball throughout the eighties and early nineties, donated blood to the United Way often, was "a union man" and a union representative and dedicated employee for the Southern Pacific Railroad, a basketball coach, softball coach, veteran, good husband and a great father. His favorite pastimes were conversation, dancing, doing the daily crossword, watching baseball and playing golf. He said quite often, "Every time I play golf, it's like playing in the Super Bowl! I love it!" He will me missed dearly by friends and family.
