Martha Jeanne Dodrill 1/14/1938 - 12/25/2021

Martha Jeanne Dodrill ended her journey on earth at her home in Auburn, CA to be with the Lord on December 25, 2021 at age 83. She succumbed to a rare form of sarcoma cancer following a near two year courageous, dignified and graceful struggle, surrounded by loving family. Martha was born January 14, 1938 in Boulder, CO to Virgil Jay Harris and Anna Marie Sutter Harris. She was the youngest of three sisters, including Barbara and Nancy and had two younger brothers, Art and Jack. In the early 1940's, the family moved to the Sacramento area where Martha resided until 1988 when she and Ron moved to Auburn, California. Martha graduated from Grant Union School in 1955. She was a member of Bethel 53 Job's Daughters. She was employed in the banking business in various capacities for over 30 years and retired from Golden One Credit Union's Corporate Headquarters, in 1999. In 1955, she married the love of her life Ronald "Ronnie" D. Dodrill, also a Grant High graduate, while he was attending American River Junior College. They had three children and is survived by daughter, Kimberly Kolafa (Mike); sons Ronald Scot Dodrill (Karen) and Brian Dodrill (Karen); three grandchildren, Jeffrey Dobrowski, Sydni Dodrill and Cameron Dodrill; two great granddaughters Ashley Dobrowski and City Dobrowski and great-great grandson Phoenix Dobrowski. Martha loved her family first and foremost and received great joy spending time with them. She was active in her churches, Pioneer United Methodist and Auburn Grace Community. She especially enjoyed cooking and entertaining and when she could no longer cook enjoyed watching cooking shows on tv. She also loved gardening, flowers, flowering shrubs and trees, autumn leaves, the birds and wildlife in her yards. Outside of the home, she loved to travel anywhere with Ron, including Alaska and Hawaii; they made annual visits to Cancun, Mexico and also travelled to other Mexico beach areas, Hawaii, England, Scotland, Namibia (Africa) and Israel. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Auburn Grace Community Church, 3126 Olympic Way, Auburn, CA 95603. In lieu of flowers, donations in tribute to Martha may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America at www.curesarcoma.org
