Placer County Sheriff's crime log: Gas pump skimmer attempt, crowbar vandalism, more

Oct. 2 A 25-year-old Rocklin resident reported a theft at Thunder Valley Casino outside Lincoln after a Honda generator was stolen out of his truck bed while the vehicle was parked on the second floor of the garage. A loss of $2,200 was reported. Dec. 6 A 62-year-old Newcastle resident reported a theft in the 100 block of Geraldson Road after two individuals stole mail and packages from her residence. A loss of $240 was reported. Dec. 10 An 18-year-old Penryn resident reported vandalism in the 3300 block of Taylor Road in Loomis after the air in one of his tires was let out and the vehicle's fender was scratched. Dec. 14 A 76-year-old Roseville resident reported a residential burglary in the 8800 block of Watt Avenue after two windows were smashed and the front door of his home was left ajar. A loss of $1,500 was reported and no items were taken from inside the home. Seth Delvin Dunkijacobsnolten, a 43-year-old Loomis transient, was cited on suspicion of driving with an expired driver's license in the 3100 block of Penryn Road in Loomis. Dec. 16 A 57-year-old Sacramento resident reported a theft at Thunder Valley Casino after her phone was stolen from a slot machine it was left on. The phone was later turned in to lost and found, but the victim's driver's license, Social Security card, $50 bill and $20 phone case were not turned in. Larry Cleodus Collins Jr., 44, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. Oscar Acosta Mendoza, 50, of Stockton was cited on suspicion of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. Dec. 18 Michael Reading, 29, of Placerville was arrested on suspicion of trespassing in the 100 block of E Hillcrest Drive in Auburn. A juvenile suspect was arrested on suspicion of vandalism in the 8000 block of Horseshoe Bar Road in Loomis. The suspect reportedly hit a vehicle and smashed all the windows with a crowbar. Vandalism was reported at the 76 gas station in the 3100 block of Boyington Road in Penryn after an individual attempted to place a skimming device in a gas pump. A loss of $3,000 was reported. A theft was reported at Lincoln Sand & Gravel in the 3500 block of Chamberlain Road in Lincoln after a catalytic converter was stolen from a U-Haul the business rents out. Miguel Zamarron-Estrada, 42, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of suspected meth possession. The citation followed a report of trespassing at Thunder Valley Casino. Bernadette La Varn Egarta, 42, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of suspected meth possession and drug paraphernalia possession. The citation followed a traffic stop for expired registration in the Interstate 80 and Riverside Avenue area of Roseville. Dec. 19 James Willard Whitfield, 44, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license in the Athens Avenue and Foothills Road area of Lincoln. A 60-year-old Granite Bay resident reported vandalism in the 7300 block of Hill Road after an unknown individual kicked in his front door, causing damage to the door jam. A loss of $400 was reported. A 79-year-old Roseville resident reported mail theft in the 3800 block of Muirwood Lane after finding no mail in his mailbox after receiving a notification his mail was delivered the previous day. The mail contained Christmas cards, Mercy Hospital paperwork, a DMV registration sticker and Stonehenge memory pills. Walter Franklin Norris III, 50, of Loomis was cited on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia possession and being an unlicensed driver in the Sunset Boulevard and Taylor Road area of Rocklin.
