Folsom Fire Department swears in 9 new recruits

Members of the Folsom Fire Department and leaders from the city of Folsom came together last week to welcome nine recruits to the Folsom Fire Department. The new recruits are Folsom Fire Academy 21-2 graduates. "We're excited and proud to have nine new recruits be a part of the Folsom Fire family and to serve the community of Folsom," said Folsom Fire Chief Ken Cusano. "Although they have successfully graduated the academy, their training and experiences will continue each day they show up for their shift." Academy instructors were Capt. Roy Griffith and Firefighter Paramedic Stephen Anderson, both doing the honors of "pinning" the new recruits with their official Folsom Fire Department hardware The recruits include six firefighter paramedics and three Fire Fighter Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT). "I was honored to lead this academy and help shape the future of the department," said Griffith. "I look forward to watching them grow and become part of the team. The newest firefighter-EMTs joining the department include Tyler Smith, Michael Pedemonte, Michael "Trent" Scott, Austin Reed, Andrew Crosby and Branson Meyers. Those who were pinned as firefighter paramedics include Branson Meyers, Brett Jones, Jesse Williams and Brent Sather.
