51st Annual Optimist All Star baseball rosters released

The 51st Annual Optimist All Star Baseball Games will take place Sunday at Army Depot Park in Sacramento and feature the top seniors in the region. Some athletes will take their talents to top collegiate programs such as Stanford, USC and Oregon State as well as community colleges and Divisions II and III programs. The Auburn area will be well represented, especially in the small-school showcase. Noah Souza and Chase Pfeifer will represent Colfax while Kenny Baltz, Ryder Holcomb and John Herrera will represent Bear River. Jaden Thomson is the lone Placer representative in the large-school contest. The small-school game begins at 4 p.m. and the large-school game at 5.
