"Betty" Elizabeth Jean Patton 10/8/1935 - 6/29/2022

It's with both joy for a life well lived and the selfish feeling of loss that we share the passing of Betty Patton. Betty, 86, of Auburn California passed away on June 29, 2022. Elizabeth Jean Meyer "Betty" was born in 1935 to Harold and Odessa Meyer in Nampa, Idaho. She moved to Auburn, California in 1957 where she resided with her husband Jerry for the remaining 65 years of her life. She has the soul of a giver. She was a special friend to all and a loving wife, mom, and grandmother. A lady whose greatest joy came from pleasing others and sharing good times. She lived for her family and friends. She surrounded herself with people of high character who knew how to respect others, while at the same time having just enough adventure in their spirit to keep life fulfilling, fun and energetic. She represented the best of all of us. Betty and Jerry were active and respected longtime members of the Auburn community. Her current affiliations included Thursday Club and Eastern Star. Betty is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jerry, her sister Anne Nierman, her son Jeff (Sheri) and her grandchildren Breanne and Jeff Jr. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Susie (2020). Betty is in a better place. Her earthly mind was worn. God gave her and her family the final worldly gift of passing peacefully and quietly with her husband and son by her side while also sharing, if only for a moment, the spirits of God and her daughter Susie. In her last few years Betty was cared for by many, you know who you are and you know you will forever be loved members of the Patton family. That includes the staff at Auburn Ravine Terrace, who still care for Jerry. Life does not always deal you the hand you plan, but as we have all maneuvered through these recent and most challenging years of our life's, the Auburn Ravine Terrance staff treated her with the immense respect and dignity that Betty would have hoped she could give to others. It may not have been the final chapter she imagined, but they made her feel special and at home.
