The gym can be a daunting place. Rooms of sharp metal objects. People growling with passion and sweat as their muscles are worked. Fast-moving treadmills, erratic elliptical machines, devices that, without the proper knowledge, resemble medieval torture structures.Whitney and Justin Siemens know this.And it is part of the reason that the young Roseville couple has created a business that leaves behind gym contracts, crowded facilities and unmotivated workouts. FlexFitness, their Roseville-based company, is a personalized health-training program that is centered on clients' personal needs and tailored precisely to their requests."Gyms can be intimidating," Whitney said. "They are usually directionless and that tends to leave you with little or no physical result."What FlexFitness offers is the opposite, with a focus on improving overall health and well-being with the accountability of a personal trainer.Whitney, 22, and her husband Justin who is 27, have been managing the business for four months and currently have between six and eight clients enrolled in the programs. Whitney and Justin collectively offer ample experience and expertise – both are Aerobics and Fitness Association of America certified personal fitness trainers. Justin has extensive training from an elite U.S. Special Forces pararescue team, and Whitney was a college athlete and is also a Pilates instructor.
