MacDiarmid named lead Creekside pastor

Creekside Church came together to formally to celebrate their new lead pastor, 29-year-old Ryan MacDiarmid.On Jan. 31, MacDiarmid, a Roseville native, found himself surrounded not only by congregation members, but by community members, local pastors and friends from the area as well. Officially voted in by the congregation on Nov. 22, 2009, MacDiarmid has already been leading Creekside Church to become more active in the community, a theme emphasized repeatedly throughout the night. In the Charge to the Congregation, presented by Dr. Gil Stieglitz, superintendent of the Western District of the Evangelical Free Church of America, the church was encouraged to continue to embrace MacDiarmid's new leadership and direction.Given the congregation's overwhelming response to the church's recent paper drive, which provided more than $16,000 in paper to seven Rocklin and Roseville elementary schools, support for MacDiarmid's new direction is already strong. MacDiarmid became Creekside's lead pastor after serving the Rocklin church as team pastor and executive pastor. He graduated from Oakmont High School in Roseville in 1998 and has a speech and communications degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and a master of divinity from Talbot School of Theology. During college summers, MacDiarmid served in the youth ministries at first Presbyterian Church in Roseville. He has also served in high school and college ministries at First Baptist Church in San Luis Obispo and Bel-Air Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. Just prior to his coming to Creekside Church in Rocklin, MacDiarmid was worship pastor at The Bridge, a Mennonite Brethren Church in Bakersfield.MacDiarmid, and his wife Katie who is also a Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo graduate, have four children; Macy, Carter, and infant twins Jude and Noah. Creekside Church is located in Rocklin on Technology Drive near Sunset Drive and Highway 65.
