Poor Man's Whiskey is back in Auburn for Harvest Celebration at Foothill Fillmore

After a several-year "pause," Poor Man's Whiskey is returning to the "Foothill Fillmore" for the annual Harvest Celebration this Saturday, Nov. 19. The show has become a favorite way to kick off the holiday season with their extended "family." Poor Man's Whiskey (aka PMW) shows in Auburn have become legendary and have sold out in the past. This show is where the band just lets loose and is often joined with special guests, and this year will be no exception. As many know, PMW not only has recorded several albums of original music, they also perform many covers from the likes of Pink Floyd, The Allman Brothers Band, Old & In the Way, Eagles, Beatles and more. Of course, these are not the average covers, as PMW makes them their own in a way that beckons folks out onto the dance floor. As is the case normally, Keep Smilin' Promotions takes that extra effort to make shows a true special occasion. Scott Holbrook, Keep Smilin's "Purveyor of Fun," advises that opening the show will be local string protégé Kyle Ledson and his friends who compose Broken Compass. Ledson has been playing concerts and festivals since he was 12 or younger, with the likes of Yonder Mountain String Band, ALO, Dead Winter Carpenters and many more. Their band puts a unique and special take on Bluegrass music, but for sure with a danceable twist. Also as a very special treat, former PMW lead guitarist, and another local phenom, Sean Lehe, will sit in for much of the show as he takes the roll of guitarist at large, elevating the fun as only he can, be it acoustic or electric. For a visual treat, Steve Goldsmith and Liquid Light Productions will bring a unique multi-media light show that one has to see to experience – all this complemented by the state-of-the-art audio system that has helped make the Foothill Fillmore at the Odd Fellows Hall possibly the best spot for a live music experience in the region. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and all proceeds made by the Auburn Odd Fellows goes right back into the community. The Odd Fellows (and ladies) provide a full bar that includes craft beer from Auburn's Crooked Lane Brewing. This is a 21-and-over event, and ID's are required.
