Local live nativity set for return Dec. 9

Hundreds of volunteers from Folsom and El Dorado Hills will come together in the true spirit of Christmas for multiple presentations of the biblical account of the birth of Jesus Christ at the area's annual live nativity event. This family-friendly, outdoor, live nativity, "O Come Let Us Adore Him" will run Friday, Dec. 9 through Sunday, Dec. 11 with performances starting each night at 6 p.m. The Live Nativity is open to the public and located at 2110 California Circle, Rancho Cordova, across from the Folsom Auto Mall. The event will feature Mary and Joseph, live shepherds, ornately-dressed wisemen, an angel choir, dozens of townspeople in and around Bethlehem, and a recorded scriptural narration from the New Testament. This walking journey through the story of the birth of Jesus Christ will proceed in groups of 50 to 80 individuals that start every 15 minutes. The tours also accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. The presentation of the live nativity presentation "is our gift to the community, an expression of our love for Jesus Christ and a chance to honor Him by celebrating His birth," said Treaver Hodson, president of the Folsom Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "It is my hope that families and friends come together and feel the love that God has for them." Admission is free. Reservations are encouraged to reduce wait times but not required.
