Santa to visit Downtown Auburn for 4 days

Santa Claus is coming to town, Downtown Auburn that is. Santa is making the sojourn to the Auburn Promenade building on Dec. 10, 11, 17 and 18 to visit with children and their families and provide opportunities for photos. Kimberly Ulrich of the Christmas in Auburn Committee has been planning this event for nine years. "Just seeing the wonder and magic that it brings the children, it's tear jerking watching some of these kids when they come to see Santa," she said. "Just bring magic back to a troubled year." The free event, which is hosted by the Downtown Business Association, Ulrich Orthodontics, High Street Endodonics and the Auburn Jeep Club, will feature Santa on a bench in front of the Auburn Promenade. Children will have the opportunity to chat with Santa, receive a small gift and take pictures. Ann Keen Photography will capture the magic for those wishing to purchase photos (except on Dec. 17). Families can prepay for photos while booking an appointment to visit Santa. For $30, Keen will capture candid moments and portrait shots and provide a 4x6 keepsake print the day of and email digital images in about a week. Families can also choose to take their own photographs. Appointments are not necessary and walk-ups are welcome. Ulrich said appointments are set up to allow for walk-ups between appointments. "Sometimes, there may be a bit of a wait, as Santa lets the children have their special time visiting with him," Ulrich said.
